The lodge offered a cozy atmosphere with a fantastic pool, perfect for my kids to splash around. We loved having a balcony to enjoy the mountain views while sipping coffee. The sauna and hot tub were a nice touch after a long day of hiking.
My kids wished for more family-friendly dining options—something casual would be great.

a perfect weekend retreat near outdoor adventures and art galleries
I found a gem tucked away just a short drive from downtown, where I could enjoy rustic charm and comfortable rockers on my private balcony while easily accessing breathtaking trails and the Highlands Art Gallery just under 3 km away.

I had a great time enjoying coffee on the balcony while watching hummingbirds and songbirds nearby. The hot tub offered a cozy retreat, and the Caprese salad we ordered was delicious! I would absolutely return here again.

Unfortunately, the room I stayed in had a musty smell and was quite dark, lacking proper lighting and ventilation. Having no fridge or microwave limited convenience, especially without a proper closet for clothing storage. hanging clothes was a challenge. Insulation between rooms is poor, leading to noise disturbances from guests above, which could be bothersome for light sleepers. Additionally, navigating the access to the rooms can be tricky, with icy steps that pose a minor safety hazard in the morning. The breakfast options are notably limited, missing out on a solid, hearty meal, especially given the hotel's remote location.

The on-site dining at Oak Steakhouse was a real treat, with desserts that are nothing short of legendary—think chocolate soufflé that'll make you weak in the knees! Also, gotta love the free parking and spacious room with a balcony to savor that mountain air.
And with a closet smaller than a broom closet, we were basically living out of our suitcases—who knew packing light would be a requirement?

Had a great time with friends! We hit the slopes at a nearby ski resort and enjoyed some hot cocoa by the fire. The views were stunning, and the rooms were clean. Make sure to grab dinner at the on-site restaurant. the food was delicious, though reserving ahead is a smart move.
We did face a hiccup when we arrived – it felt like the front desk staff were taken by surprise, and it made check-in more awkward than it should've been.
